Chapel Allerton Methodist Church

Where everyone is welcome

Church Stewards

These are our current Church Stewards.

Mark (Senior Steward) lives locally with his wife & two sons. He comes from a non Christian background, but is now very much a part of Methodism in Chapel Allerton. He found Chapel Allerton Methodist Church a most welcoming and enjoyable place to worship, with plenty going on for all the age groups. Mark feels very strongly that the church needs to move forward and try new things. He is the editor of this website and its forum and feels that this is just one step in the 'outreach' of this church.

Mark has previously been involved, along with his wife, in our Drama Group. They have had roles on stage, and helped out off stage. Mark's main hobby is anything to do with computers. He is also a keen supporter of the Leeds Rhinos Rugby League team.

A Church Steward

One of the roles of a Church Steward, as set out by The Methodist Church is:

"The Church Stewards are corporately responsible with the Minister, for giving leadership and help over the whole range of the Church's life and activity. They are particularly charged to hold together in unity the variety of concerns that are contained within the one ministry of the Church. To this end, it is their responsibility to uphold and act upon the decisions and policies of the Church Council. In the discharge of their responsibilities they are encouraged wherever possible to draw other members with appropriate gifts and skills into a leadership team to be appointed by the Church Council"
