After much thought, the Church Council has decided to invest significantly in refurbishment works to keep our premises fit for current and potential future usage.
Over the next two years, the Church is seeking to raise at least £20,000 to ensure that these works can be completed without leaving the Church completely bereft of reserves.
We had reached the initial target in just over 6 months!
Our recent 'Harvest Supper & Favours Auction' raised in excess of £1,300
Our total is now around £24,000
A big thank you to everyone concerned.
We will continue to raise funds to the end of our 2 year project. Hopefully we will have money available to do necessary improvements to the main church building. Please continue with your support and watch this space...
The main areas of work include:
A new platform lift in the Centre
Refurbishment of the Main Kitchen
Refurbishment of the Centre Hall
Possible facelift for the Centre Entrance
Work to the Church Guttering
As we've thought prayerfully about these things, it has become increasingly clear that the community of Chapel Allerton would be poorer without the facilities we provide, and our Church's witness would be much diminished.
The Local Authority are being supportive, and have provided a grant of £14,400 towards the cost of the lift. A local kitchen manufacturer (Moores of Thorpe Arch) has donated kitchen units. A number of our own people have already given and pledged their skills and labour.
Because of all this support, the works are already well under way in advance of our fundraising efforts and will continue as we proceed, with your help, to raise the necessary cash.
How can you help?
That's for you to decide. What is most important is that as wide a body of people as possible contribute in cash and in kind to bring success.

To be decided...
In addition, there are plans for regular coffee mornings and Saturday Cafes; Talk of concerts in the Church and the hope that individuals and groups who use our buildings will find creative ways of contributing to the fundraising efforts.
